The Xenobiology Club is new, and there aren't many members. Soon, I should be able to officially recognize a few more people as official members once they get their art in. Even as early as it is, I think it is still appropriate for us to have a DeviantID image. I could make it myself, but I want the members to have involvement in the way things work around here. For that reason, I'm going to give you all an opportunity to create a DeviantID image for the club.
The image must (obviously) portray the essence of what xenobiology means. I would prefer it if the image depicts some alien in its natural environment, but there is some wiggle room here. Just ask if you have an idea that you're not sure about. The image must also contain the phrase "Xenobiology Club". The art can be done in any medium and can have any proportions within the size limitations (see below). After the deadline (see below) is reached, I will hold a vote for the best ID. You, the members, will get to vote on who wins. Here are the requirements for the image:
UPPER SIZE LIMIT: 400 pixels wide by 500 pixels high
LOWER SIZE LIMIT: 300 pixels wide by 300 pixels high
DUE DATE: *No deadline anymore.*
If, for some reason, nobody submits any IDs, I'll make one myself. Also, make sure the content of the image is in good taste. I shouldn't have much of a problem with this, given the current members, but you never know when someone might put something potentially offensive in there.
Remember, NO HUMANOIDS.

Dusting off yet again...
My unreserved apologies to all for the unconscionable neglect in maintaining the group. I can only allege more important matters regarding personal life coming to the fore and trying to balance that with other activities: my own development as an artist, and being webmaster over at Palaeos.
That said, right at the start of the admin log I notice the same obliviousness by prospective members that had me rather avoid going over the log at Paleoartists (https://www.deviantart.com/paleoartists). See "Meanwhile at the Paleoartists Group..." for further context on that situation.
The point however is simple: I can't quite understand how people miss the widget with the rules on the G
Xenobiology-Club as a Group
Updated the rules. It's that long custom widget at the top of the profile so people actually read through it. I've lifted a good deal of that text from the other club I manage, Paleoartists (https://www.deviantart.com/paleoartists). I'll be also copy/pasting some of the pertinent journal entries from there.
Anyway feel free do discuss any changes you'd like made to the rules. As members before conversion have, or haven't, jumped through these hoops before I'll make a point of exceptionally using invites to alert the more oblivious or busy ones to the changes. In any case feel free to apply again either strictly (very appreciated if you do) or linking to a deviation that best re
Converting to Group and A Challenge
I apologize for being an absentee admin for nearly a year now. I can only excuse myself with the vagaries of my life.
Anyway following the group conversion I'll update the rules and we can start making this an active group in earnest.
Meanwhile, to keep ourselves occupied while we wait here are a few quotes from my review of James Cameron's blockbuster movie "Avatar".
"I think my only real gripe about this movie is that the Na'vi were far too humanized for empathy, for them to be credible as a part of the native fauna of Pandora."
"So in response to his wish that hardcore sci-fi fans went in to see the film and had a good time I'd say "'T
Club is up for adoption
As my interest in astrobiology/xenobiology has waned, I have become less interested in this club. Therefore, I am willing to donate ownership of this club to another, more-willing deviant. If you are interested in running this club, please reply to this journal.

I wanna ask you something, can we put a picture from Alien Planet or The Future is Wild or any other xenobiology source? Or should we create the picture by ourself?
